Back to Basics: Finding Faith Ministries is excited to announce that Angie VanderVinne completed Dave Ramsey’s Financial Counselor Training in Brentwood, TN. A rigorous application and pre-conference education process were involved, as well as a financial investment in the training. “I was introduced to Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University in late 2007, and was blown away by our shared financial principles and values. I knew I had found my passion and that I was meant to counsel people.” states Angie.
The intense counselor training consisted of the Counseling Process Overview, Budgeting and Cash Flow Planning, Counseling Issues, Marriage Issues, Working with People, Retirement and College Planning, Understanding Insurance, Myths about Debt; Dealing with Collectors; Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Foreclosures and Forbearances, Bankruptcy Philosophy and Types, Investment Guidelines, Estate Planning, and Ministry Services. Additionally, case studies and role playing exercises were used to apply and practice the principles studied in training.
“While I have been financially coaching people for almost three years, the training helped fill in the gaps and focus on empowering people to take control of their finances instead of trying to fix their finances for them. Getting financially healthy is not without sacrifice, but the progress made is motivating.” Angie launched Back to Basics: Finding Faith Ministries in 2008 and has written articles, spoken to groups, and counseled individuals on finances.
